A protein which catalyzes cleavage of DNA at the sequence 5'-AATCC-3' has been purified to homogeneity from a strain of Escherichia coli infected with the temperate phage f2. The primary amino acid sequence of the protein is closely related to that of the penicillin-binding protein (PB3) from the same strain of E. coli. Antibodies directed against purified f2 endonuclease cross-react with the purified PB3. Both of these proteins are released from E. coli during phage infection and can thus be detected in the same sample of infected cells.First report on reflux of Co-Cr-Mo alloy in patients treated with a zirconia-reinforced femoral component.
We report on a series of patients who were treated with a femoral component that was made of a Co-Cr-Mo alloy and then refluxed with zirconia. In these patients, there were no signs of loosening. We believe that the aseptic loosening that was seen in our first zirconia-reinforced femoral component was due to reflux in the peri-implant bone. Patients implanted with a zirconia-reinforced femoral component should be monitored carefully for reflux of the metal into the bone.'use strict';
